Fiberglass chopped strand mat are glued together with a resin adhesive. Chopped short-cut mats have fast wetting properties to reduce filling times and make them conform to complex mould in boat hulls. With the addition of resin to the fiberglass mat, the resin binder dissolves and the fibers can move around, allowing the CSM to conform to tight curves and corners.
