PBS is a leading biodegradable plastic material with a wide range of applications, which can be used in packaging, tableware, cosmetic bottles and medicine bottles, disposable medical supplies, agricultural films, pesticides and fertilisers, slow-release materials, biomedical polymers and other fields.
PBS has excellent comprehensive performance, reasonable cost performance and good application prospects. Compared with other biodegradable plastics, PBS has excellent mechanical properties, close to PP and ABS plastics; it has good heat resistance, with a heat distortion temperature close to 100℃, and a modified temperature close to 100℃, which can be used for the preparation of hot and cold beverage packages and lunch boxes, and overcomes the shortcomings of other biodegradable plastics in terms of low heat resistance temperature;
PBS processing performance is very good, can be in the existing general plastics processing equipment for all kinds of moulding processing, PBS is currently the best degradation of plastics processing performance, at the same time can be co-mingled with a large number of calcium carbonate, starch and other fillers, to get low-priced products; PBS production can be carried out through a slight transformation of the existing general-purpose polyester production equipment, the current domestic polyester equipment production capacity of a serious surplus, the transformation of the production of PBS for the surplus polyester equipment provides a good opportunity for the production of PBS. At present, the domestic polyester equipment is seriously overcapacity, transformation of PBS production for the surplus polyester equipment provides a new use. In addition, PBS is degraded only under specific microbiological conditions such as composting and water, and its performance is very stable during normal storage and use.
PBS, with aliphatic dibasic acid and diols as the main raw materials, can either meet the demand with the help of petrochemicals or be produced by the bio-fermentation pathway through cellulose, dairy by-products, glucose, fructose, lactose and other nature's renewable crop products, thus realising the green recycling production from nature and back to nature. Moreover, the raw materials produced by the bio-fermentation process can significantly reduce the cost of raw materials, thus further reducing the cost of PBS.
