PBSA (polybutylene succinate adipate) is a kind of biodegradable plastics, which is generally made from fossil resources, and can be degraded by microorganisms in the natural environment, with a decomposition rate of more than 90% in 180 days under the condition of composting.PBSA is one of the more enthusiastic categories in the research and application of biodegradable plastics at present.
Biodegradable plastics include two categories, namely, bio-based degradable plastics and petroleum-based degradable plastics. Among petroleum-based degradable plastics, dibasic acid diol polyesters are the main products, including PBS, PBAT, PBSA, etc., which are prepared by using butanedioic acid and butanediol as raw materials, which have the advantages of good heat-resistance, easy-to-obtain raw materials, and mature technology. Compared with PBS and PBAT, PBSA has a low melting point, high fluidity, fast crystallisation, excellent toughness and faster degradation in the natural environment.
PBSA can be used in packaging, daily necessities, agricultural films, medical materials, 3D printing materials and other fields.
